Aluminum Plate and Sheet 5052-H32
Aluminum 5052-H32 is an aluminum alloy known for its excellent corrosion resistance, especially in marine and atmospheric environments. In the H32 temper, the material has been processed to achieve optimal strength and hardness while maintaining good ductility and formability. It is widely used in applications requiring high corrosion resistance and easy forming.
- Composition: Aluminum alloy primarily containing magnesium as the alloying element, providing excellent corrosion resistance. It also contains smaller amounts of chromium, improving structural stability.
- Properties: High corrosion resistance, particularly in saline and fresh-water environments. Moderate-to-high mechanical strength and good weldability. The H32 temper ensures a balanced combination of strength and formability.
- Heat treatment: H32 is a temper in which the material is cooled after strain hardening to provide suitable mechanical strength and hardness while maintaining good formability.
- Applications: Ideal for environments where corrosion resistance is critical, such as marine, automotive, transportation, and many equipment manufacturing applications.
- Excellent corrosion resistance: Ideal for marine environments and applications exposed to salt water or atmospheric corrosion.
- Good mechanical strength: Despite being a lightweight alloy, it maintains adequate mechanical strength for structural applications.
- Easy to weld and form: 5052-H32 is easy to process and has good weldability, facilitating the manufacture of complex parts.
- Good formability: Can be formed without losing its mechanical properties, making it useful in fabrication and forming processes.
- Lightweight: Helps reduce weight, ideal for vehicle manufacturing and aeronautical components.
Applications: Chassis parts, body panels, and components requiring corrosion resistance, mechanical strength, and ease of fabrication.
Construction industry:
